पूर्व-स्नातक शिक्षा Undergraduate Education
भा.प्रौ.सं.कानपुर में एक सहज पूर्व-स्नातक पाठ्यक्रम लागू किया गया है जो अनम्य नहीं है जिसमें विज्ञान एवं प्रौद्योगिकी का ज्ञान एक बृहत् ज्ञान भंडार की ओर अग्रसर करता है। यहाँ विद्यार्थी को अपने मूल विषय से हटकर 50% से अधिक ऐसे दूसरे पाठ्यक्रमों को चुनने की सुविधा देता है जिनमें 25% से अधिक पाठ्यक्रम मानविकी व प्रबंधन से संबंधित हैं।
इस प्रकार विद्यार्थी ऐसे ज्ञानार्जन हेतु स्वतंत्र रहता है जो की अनेकानेक विषयों में सहायक हो सकते है । भा.प्रौ.सं.कानपुर पूर्व-स्नातक उपाधि पाठ्यक्रम को वास्तव में छात्र के उच्चतर ज्ञानार्जन की पहली सीढ़ी मानता है और तदनुसार विद्यार्थी को इस लक्ष्य के साथ आगे बढ़ने के लिए प्रोत्साहित करता है कि वह जान सके कि उसका आगे लक्ष्य क्या है।
अपने पूर्व-स्नातक शिक्षण में भा.प्रौ.सं.कानपुर ने विज्ञान की दो प्रचलित शाखाओं भौतिकी, रसायन एवं गणित (PCM) तथा भौतिकी, रसायन एवं जीवविज्ञान (PCB) के मध्य तथाकथित अंतर को समाप्त कर दिया है। अभियांत्रिकी के छात्रों के पाठ्यक्रम में जैविक विज्ञान पाठ्यक्रमों के जोड़ने से यह संभव हुआ है। इन दोंनो पाठ्यक्रमों के बेहतर तालमेल से यह संभावना बढ़ी है कि नये आविष्कारों एवं खोजों की अगली ऐसी पायदान पर पहुँचा जा सके जिससे समाज की आवश्यकताओं की पूर्ति कहीं अधिक सुगमता से हो सके।
IIT, Kanpur offers a liberal undergraduate education, where knowledge of science and technology is part of a broader knowledge platform. A student has the choice of opting for more than 50% of courses outside of the student's chosen department. Of these a student can opt for more than 25% of courses that are in fields such as management and humanities.
The student is therefore free to develop a wide knowledge base encompassing many disciplines. IIT, Kanpur recognizes an undergraduate degree as the start of a student's higher education learning and encourages the student to explore so that the student can know what to do next.
In its undergraduate education IIT, Kanpur has removed the artificial split between the two science streams of Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics (PCM) and Physics, Chemistry & Biology (PCB). This has been done by introducing life sciences courses for engineering students. This better meets the needs of society since greater interaction between the two streams is required to deliver the next generation of inventions and discoveries.
परा-स्नातक शिक्षा Postgraduate Education
भा.प्रौ.सं.कानपुर में शिक्षण के लिए आवश्यक विश्वस्तरीय सुविधाएँ उपलब्ध कराई गई हैं तथा यहाँ सर्वोच्च स्तर के शोध किये जाते हैं ताकि कोई भी छात्र अपने विषय क्षेत्र में विश्व के कुछ योग्यतम लोंगो से ज्ञान प्राप्त कर सकें तथा उनके साथ कार्य कर सकें।
भा.प्रौ.सं.कानपुर में पूरे वर्ष सम्मेलनों एवं संगोष्ठियों का आयोजन होता रहता है जिनमें शामिल होने वाले प्रतिभागियों के कारण संस्थान में अनुसंधान के लिए एक जीवन्त वातावरण बना रहता है।
